GoodScience, in collaboration with Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) and MyMedisafe, has implemented a drum recycling and repurposing initiative to support responsible pharmaceutical waste management. This programme aligns with the “Buang Ubat Dengan Selamat” initiative while reducing reliance on single-use plastics.
Impact
This initiative strengthens both environmental sustainability and responsible healthcare practices. By extending the lifecycle of industrial plastic drums through repurposing, it reduces dependency on single-use containers. At the same time, it ensures expired medicines are stored and managed safely prior to disposal, minimising environmental contamination and public health risks associated with improper pharmaceutical waste handling.
